About

Meghan Vigeant travelled to Nepal in the fall of 2012 to document Nisha and Raj’s story.

I wanted to show audiences how discrimination can be so subtle and can be found even within families. There are so many stories of the struggles dalits must face all over the world, stories that can be very discouraging to the human spirit (rape, violence, aggression, institutionalized discrimination). Untouchable Love is a story of hope in the midst of those struggles. Nisha and Raj represent an emerging trend in Nepal and southeast Asia. Their story reveals a new Nepal where a man is judged, not by his caste, but by his heart.

Producer, Meghan Vigeant at Kalika Mandir, a temple in Chitwan, Nepal.
